Graduate Student Conference Scholarships

As the conference pivots to an all-virtual format in 2022, the parameters for this scholarship are changing. 2022 Applicants will receive individual messages. The North American Bramble Growers Research Foundation (NABRGF) and the North American Raspberry & Blackberry Association (NARBA) are offering three student travel scholarships to the 2022 North American Raspberry & Blackberry Conference in Gaithersburg, MD, February 21-24, 2022. Preference will be given to graduate students; however, undergraduate applicants may be considered. Each scholarship covers travel and hotel expenses of up to $1000 and registration for the main conference February 23-24*. Recipients will be expected to present a poster at the conference if at all possible.

If funds allow, additional scholarships will be awarded to students participating virtually and not in-person (registration fees only). Presentation of a virtual poster is expected.

*Participation in the pre-conference “Fundamentals of Production” Workshop or Conference tour is not automatically part of this scholarship. Both have limited registration. Applicants may register for these separately to be sure of a spot, or wait to see if they can be added in.

Applicants should fill out the form below no later than January 15. Supporting documents, such a CV or resume, links to published work, previous posters, etc. (pdf or doc, docx files only) are recommended so we can better evaluate your application. Recipients will be notified by January 21. Recipients will be asked to provide an estimate of their travel expenses and then to keep receipts. Expenses will be reimbursed.

If you have questions about this program or your application, please contact Patrick Byers, NABGRF Research Committee, or the NARBA office.
