Useful Links Relating to the Development of a Blackberry R & P Program
North American Raspberry & Blackberry Association (NARBA) – Membership organization of growers, researchers, marketers, and others, which is providing initial leadership towards the development of a blackberry R & P program.
Oregon Raspberry & Blackberry Commission (ORBC) – State berry commission, funded by a state assessment program, participating in the blackberry R & P discussions.
Washington Red Raspberry Commission (WRRC) – State berry commission, funded by a state assessment program, which has been working on a national R & P program for processed red raspberries
National Processed Raspberry Council — This new R&P program held its first organizational meeting in June 2013. It is in many ways a model for a blackberry program.
U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council – Governing body for the blueberry program, approved in 2000. The success of this program shows what a blackberry R&P might accomplish.
National Watermelon Promotion Board – Another R & P program
Raspberry Industry Development Council – An assessment-supported program for raspberries in Canada
USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (USDA/AMS) – Federal agency responsible for assisting commodities in developing marketing programs and administering these programs. There are currently ten R & P programs for fruits, vegetables, and spcialty crops.
